Igman and contains more than 60 karst springs. Stojcevac, another outdoor destination with parks, forests, wild roses, raspberry and blackberry bushes, is also connected to the Big alley. The Sarajevo Tunnel, sometimes referred to as Tunnel Spasa and Tunnel of Hope, was built between March and June 1993 while Sarajevo was under siege during the Bosnian War. The 800-meter-long corridor is just over a meter wide, and it is 1.5 meters tall on average. The beleaguered community was once again able to access telephone connections, oil supplies, food, and electricity thanks to the tunnel. Following the war, approximately 20 meters of the tunnel became part of a museum that houses many items from the Siege of Sarajevo, the longest-running siege of any city in modern history. The mountain range stretches for 300 kilometers and has a Mediterranean and continental climate. The Bjelasnica and Igman mountains have been known to experience all four seasons in a single day. The Jajce fortress is one of the main features of the city, located in the heart of the Old Town, and is presumed to have been built in the thirteenth century. Only five kilometres from the centre of the city, between the Great and the Small Pliva Lake, lie nineteen watermills, which are popularly called "mlinii" in Jajce. These watermills are made of oak trees and are believed to date from the period of the Middle Ages.
